July 9 – COVID-19 3-Part ‘Mini-Series’; Part 2 – Risk Assessment

Download Part 2 – “Risk Assessment” here Download

Good Afternoon,

Returning to dental hygiene practice has been challenging and we are now in the 5th week of adjusting to practice that looks very different than the one we left. In order to alter ‘the way things used to be’, difficult decisions have been made as there are many more factors to incorporate into providing dental hygiene care. A quote from Admiral Grace Hopper reflects our need to constantly think forward, rather than looking backwards, especially in times of disruption and change. “The most damaging phrase in the language is ‘We’ve always done it this way.” The COVID-19 pandemic has required us to change the way we practice, which is challenging and can be uncomfortable. Some of these decisions have been fairly straightforward, some strictly clinical and others that have necessitated extensive collaborative discussion with employers and colleagues.

Part 2 of our 3-Part Mini-Series is attached for your review, I hope it is a useful reference as you return to work.
