April 29 – CDHM Return to Work Update

Return to Work Update- April 29th, 2020

The premier announced today, Effective May 4, and at the further direction of their respective regulatory bodies, regulated health professionals, such as dentists, dental hygienists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, optometrists and podiatrists will no longer be limited to providing urgent and emergent care.” In anticipation of the ‘return to work’ for dentistry, CDHM has been working to develop a methodical, evidence-based approach to re-opening the practice of dental hygiene in our province. Part of the preparation has been determining best practices for Infection Prevention and Control and creating a Guideline containing interim protocols specific to the COVID-19 pandemic. This document will be made available to registrants, by the end of the week, in order to be prepared for the safe delivery of care for your patients, yourselves and your colleagues. The protocols will be extensive, significantly changing how we provide care. The Guidelines are being developed based on best practice recommendations from a number of sources, incorporating the most recent research and recommendations from Manitoba Shared Health.
