CDHM Survey on Oral Cancer Screening Practices

The CDHM is conducting a strictly anonymous survey to better understand current registrant practices related to oral cancer screening (OCS), including intraoral and extraoral examinations. The purpose of this survey is quality improvement, education planning, and understanding current practice environments across Manitoba, and responses will not be used for compliance or disciplinary purposes.

As outlined in the CDHM Interpretation Guideline for Oral Cancer Screening and Education, “Dental hygiene standards of care require a RDH to perform a routine, comprehensive oral cancer screening for every dental hygiene client, at every visit, in every dental hygiene practice setting.” Routine oral cancer screening supports early detection and improved client outcomes, and this survey will help identify current practice realities, barriers to implementation, and potential supports needed by registrants.

CDHM invites all registrants to complete the anonymous survey: CDHM Survey on Oral Cancer Screening Practices

The survey contains only a few questions, takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. Although the survey is not eligible for CCP credit, registrant participation is greatly appreciated and will help inform future quality improvement initiatives, education planning, and supports for the profession.

The survey will remain open until June 12th.

Thank you in advance for your participation and for supporting ongoing quality improvement within the profession.
