The Health Canada, Dental Care Task Force is pleased to inform you that An Act respecting cost of living relief measures related to dental care and rental housing received Royal Assent on November 17, 2022 and that the Dental Benefit Act is now in force. As a result, eligible families will be able to start applying for the interim Canada Dental Benefit on December 1, 2022 (Canada Dental Benefit – Canada.ca).
Health Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency will be holding an information session on Tuesday, November 29 (details below) to walk oral health professionals through the Canada Dental Benefit eligibility criteria and the application portal as well as answer your questions. We that you will be able to join the meeting and encourage you to share this email with your colleagues so that they can also participate.

The Task Force has also prepared some helpful tools and resources to answer questions about the interim Canada Dental Benefit and to better equip you to help your patients, clients, and colleagues understand and access the benefit. As a trusted oral health professional, we are asking for your support in distributing our educational information and informing patients/clients of this important benefit so that more kids can visit you to get brighter smiles.
