Land Acknowledgement

CDHM is located on the original lands of the Indigenous peoples of Manitoba, which includes the Anishinaabeg, Dakota Oyate, Inninewak, Anishinini, Dene, and Inuit and is the homeland of the Red River Metis nation. We acknowledge that Winnipeg receives its drinking water from Shoal Lake 40. We recognize Treaties 1-6 & 10 that created relationships between Treaty partners and that the agreements they made were intended to be mutually beneficial. We are committed to collaborating with Indigenous communities in the shared spirit of truth telling for the healing and inclusion of all who share the land.
